1 killed, 2 injured as oil tanker plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Feb 8: One person was killed and two others received injuries, when the oil tanker they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into Baghu nallah at Batote on Jammu Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AE-3083 was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into Baghu nallah, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to two others. In the accident, the 220KV Kishanpur to Pulwama transmission tower installed in Baggu nullah also got damage.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Emergency Hospital Batote, from where they were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Rasik Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Nainpora Sangam, while the injured have been identified as Asif, son of Ayoub Bhat of Sangam Kashmir and Rafiq.
A case in this regard has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
