Taking care of cow

Sir,

We Hindus take pride in calling ourselves as the cow protectors (Gow rakhshak) and name it as Gow-Mata, but without actually being so. The cow which gives us milk and we ourselves feed with, we call it Gow-Mata, because it is a as good to us as our mother. It is as such sacred to Hindus but only in letter and not in spirit. I have observed that the owner of the drycow shirks giving substantial intake to the animal and it becomes lean and haggard. Not only this, the owner throws it on the road side where it disturbs the walking people and the shopkeepers especially the vegetable vendor who take a stick-lathi-and starts beating it mercilessly. How cruel is the act? As a matter of fact the owner of the dry cow should give it substantial and health-giving intake so that she maintains good health and attains pregnancy in which case the owner remains in profit in the matter of abundance of milk in his home.

When the cow is in milk we own it and when it is dry we throw it on the road to fend for itself. Are we really Hindus? I doubt. This kind of Gow-rakhsha is simple and pure hypocricy and we who indulges it cannot be called a Hindu. I advise Hindus who keep the animal, be sure it is well fed. The Government cattle-pond in the city is just a show piece where funds provided by the Government are scantily spent on the animals. Where these funds go, must be known to the officials of pond.

Work for a common cause

Sir,

After Assembly Elections, the people of J&K expect a neat and clean Government which should work for the interest of people. They have elected their representatives with great enthusiasm so that their long pending problems are solved and they shall heave a sigh of relief. The people of Kashmir elected PDP representatives keeping in view the poor performance of NC during the last 6 years. Mr. Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's adamant attitude for becoming Chief Minister will definitely harm the interests of the State. He must keep in mind that the people of Kashmir have voted his party to end gun culture, and restoration of peace.

As far as Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is concerned, he should also forward a step to break the stalemate keeping in view the vast interests of the people. It is very true that during the NC rule, the Jammu region has been discriminated very badly. Jammu did not get its share for the development work and in employment opportunities also. So it will be very unfortunate for the people of J&K if the Governor's rule is imposed in the State.

It would be very difficult for both the parties (PDP and Congress (I) to answer the people of J&K for their failure to form the Government. And if the elections are to be held again, it will be a golden opportunity for the NC to exploit both the parties and get the mandate with a tremendous majority and thereafter there will be NC rule again. In this manner, Jammu Region will again become victim of NC rule.

So, in view of the future consequences, both the leaders should work on a formula which may be in the interest of J&K people in Particular.

Withdrawing troops

Sir,

Apropos news items "India to pull troops from IB with Pakistan" Govt. decides that Indian troops deployed on the border except on LoC in J&K will come back to peace time deployment after about 10 months. The period was definitely an abnormal for keeping troops in waiting for war position. We have all praise fro the brave Indian soldiers for remaining alert and maintaining 100 percent vigil on the borders sacrificing their comforts being away from their children and families and with their stopped leave for such a long stretch. We are proud of out troops for happily performing their allotted duty though it is the most difficult task to keep waiting for war facing the enemy with eye ball to eye ball confrontation. If war gets on with Pakistan, every one knows it would be for days only but here it was a matter of months and even then the efforts put in by our obedient soldiers were not given a chance to crush the enemy one for all as was promised more than once by our politicians. Great Indian soldiers who always respect and worship the meaningful and sacred saying "No question of why either do or die" will not utter a single word on the Government's decision taken during the entire period of 10 months but a true soldier feels bad and dishonoured when has to leave the battle filed (in this case the war the deployment) without mission getting completed.

The Pakistan is hell bent to continue her dirty plans for generating proxy war and spreading terrorism thus killing hundreds of innocent Indians, destroying National property worth croses of rupees and making Indian economy to shatter from bad to worse then why a mercy for her nasty designs? A common Indian would have been the most happiest person on earth had out troops been withdrawn on their peace time locations after utilizing their patriotism, by teaching Pakistan a lesson which she could remember for generations to come and could not dare to think of such dirty games even in her dreams. But alas! with our weak policies, the naked sword of Kashmir problem, will keep hanging on our neck, only God knows for how long? Every one knows that right from the time of country' partition many such deciding opportunities came but we were never allowed to become lucky to knock it our once for all.
