SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Head of the PDP-led coalition Government, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, today asked the Jammu & Kashmir Police to continue counter-insurgency operations but made it clear that the state Police force would have to show total professionalism in its drive against militants. Even as the new Chief Minister reiterated that the infamous Special Operations Group (SOG) would be assimilated into Police, he asserted that he would himself function as the Chairman of the Unified Headquarters— the counter-insurgency machinery of the State and the Central Governments in Jammu & Kashmir.................more
