President Rule in J&K

Sir,

Kindly refer the News captioned "NC Leaders up in Arms against Centre." In this context, it would be correct to say that as and when the central leadership think to take any step in the interest of J&K People, the Ruling NC leaders do not tolerate the same. They speak with liberty against the central Leadership. It would be fair and in interest of the people if the President's Rule is imposed in J&K State before the conduct of elections. This is the demand of the opposite political parties as well as people of J&K. The NC party leaders always try to mislead the masses by giving irrelevant statements.

It is not understood as to why the NC leaders feel insecure if the President's rule is imposed in the State on the demand of opposition political parties as well as people of J&K? This step of the Central Government should be appreciated by the NC leaders to prove their worth in the forth-coming election.

If we go back, the past record of the NC party, it would definitely reveal that right from the beginning of the political career of this party, it is their habit to speak against central leadership and exploit the things on one pretest or the other.

Before concluding of my this write up, I would like to give a suggestion to the Central Govt. to impose the President's rule in the J&K State before conducting the election. In this way the political parties in the State would feel that justice is being done with them and it would also lessen chances of rigging in the election as has been alleged in the past by the Opposition political parties. People of J&K feel that it is necessary to introduce President's Rule for fair election in the State.

Employment package

Sir,

Daily Excelsior of 19th June, carried the news of Dr. Farooq's retirement from the active politics. To come and go is a natural process. Our society never forgets a person of his successes and failures.

While paying tributes to outgoing Chief Minister I think as a citizen of this State, it is my duty to remind Dr. Farooq Abdullah that before the eruption of militancy a large section of our youth was waiting for employment. Due to militancy and mass copying during militancy their doors for employment were totally closed. Nothing was done to provide jobs to these unlucky fellows. The wrong policy of Recruitment and backdoor appointments have made this section totally dejected. Their merit was compared with the merit of post militancy period. No priority was given to their age bar etc. It is totally unjust to compare the merit of a graduate of 1988 to that of 2002. Our Chief Minister is also aware of the fact that many students secured high merit due to militancy and mass copying.

The employment package for migrant youth proves to be an eye wash. Perhaps Govt. is waiting for the day when all the candidates who have applied will become uneligible and cross the age bar.

Pakistan and terrorism

Sir,

Jehad, as interpreted by militants is not a one way street. It has become crystal clear by the attack on the US Embassy in Karachi. Pakistan is now not free from the tentacles of Jehadis. Even before, Pakistan was never away from such violence. But earlier, it was the internal war i.e the Shia Sunni Strife and a typical gang warfare which never affected the Government and its functioning because at that time Islamabad had a cozy relationship with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda and the Western world was not at all involved. Even Islamabad itself was giving a free hand to the terrorists for their so-called holy war in Kashmir.

As soon as Islamabad, under the Western pressure tried to sail in two boats i.e along with helping the US fight terrorism in Afghanistan and helping the Jehadis to carry out their deadly deeds, it started to perish. As a result of this the Taliban fundamentalists and Al-Qaeda terrorists have now congregated in Pakistan in greater number than before. Karachi has been made the epicenter to carry out their religious work or Islamic terrorism. Then the terrorists have three enemies to fight-the western world, India and that part of Pakistani Govt. which is supporting the US, even if reluctantly.

It is actually the time for Pakistan to stand wholly against the Jehad and seek the support of as many countries as required to root out terrorism from the world.
