Addressing a press conference, State president of the Dalit Sena, Mrs Kailash Kumari alleged that Ram Vilas Paswan was working with dedication and sincerity and he was shifted from Telecommunication Department due to some invisible pressure. "Mr Paswan is a very dynamic, capable, progressive and constructive leader and has proved his ability as Minister of Railways and Telecommunication", she said and alleged that all radical steps taken by Mr Paswan were spoiled by Mr Nitish Kumar. Dalit Sena leader said that it was difficult for some elements in BJP to digest the growing popularity of Ram Vilas Paswan so they have hatched a conspiracy to get him shift. Of the 15 seats required to be filled by the election, 14 got elected uncontested. The 15th seat which had to be filled from the member societies belonging to category other than Agriculture Credit, Non Agriculture Credit and Marketing Societies remained vacant as the sole nomination paper filed for this seat by Mrs Krishana Devi of the Nandpur Women Milk Producer Co-operative Society Limited block R S Pura was rejected by the Returning Officer at the scrutiny level. For the purpose of the default, position of 30th June, 2001 was taken as a base and if any society cleared default till the date of filing nomination that also was considered eligible provided it was falling in the category of working society.
