Preach peace, not hatered

Sir,

The statement of Osama bin Laden to a Pakistan weekly ‘TAKBIR’ on 5th Oct. that he is against Jews and not against Americans and that he is not interested in punishing Americans but Israelis so that it may serve as eye opener to their generations to come . He is waging an armed war against infidels and Muslim rulers , who are in favour of who are supporting them . He tried to justify that the attacks in America were actually the handy work of Jews and they wanted funds for which they were actually starved of and he has nothing to do in this all episode of killing thousands by attacking World Trade centers and the Pentagon . He further said that Pakistan is the fort of Islam and is with Talibans in fight against the enemies of Islam and dominance of the west. May the present Govt. in Pakistan help America , at present , due to some compelled circumstances. His statement clearly says that from Indonesia to Algeria, Chechnya to Kashmir and Bosnia to Sudan he has many supporters and are in lacs and all are ready to sacrifice their lives for him in his fight to teach the ,so called enemies, a lesson through terrorism . On the other hand the US is bent upon teaching a lesson to Osama bin Laden , through his might for daring to attack America. Now, when the attacks on Afghanistan have begun ,on 7th of Oct., Osama bin Laden have declared : "The president of America is the head of all infidels and he will not allow America and its allied countries to live in peace". And now Al Qadea his terrorist net work has threatened US and Britain to be prepared for facing more suicide attacks and advising Muslims not to Air travel and to avoid living in high buildings.

In a way, the world has been divided into sects., one who believes in terrorism and the other who wants to forcibly curb their intentions (terrorism) with an effort by taking rest of the world into confidence .Both of them are in a state of WAR,. The net result is hate and spreading hatred will cause more differences and destructions. Mahatma Gandhi has rightly said : " Eye for an eye makes the world blind ".

In fact, the religion of the humanity is being believed all over the world now and the people in general & new generation of modern ideology always think of better relations and would like to remain as better human beings in order to have a better homogeneous society . The Americans are an example . European countries are also on the same pattern. Such is the belief and these people , called moderates in all the religions , should unite and create vibes of peace so as to balance the forces of hatred, death and destructions. Such people who want to speak the language of love , compassion and non violence and have no name of their religion to mention are called sane. About 30 years back Osho predicted in his book "In search of the miracles" that coming few years will be very crucial in the man’s history and a handful of people will be of no help in spiritual matters . Unless a massive spiritual movement sweeps the earth , it will be impossible to save the world from mire of destruction . Swami Chaitanya Keerti ji Maharaj has also said that he visualizes a spiritual movement as thousands of people are influenced and involved in spiritualism .I have also witnessed a gathering where about 8 to 10 thousands people have taken Guru mantra from their Guru Shri Asha Ram ji Bapu in a single sitting and vowed to turn spiritual and strict vegetarian . Other wise also, India called the land of Saints has to play an important role. This is the place where Lord Buddha , Lord Mahavir , Guru Nanak ji and Mahatma Gandhi etc. have taken birth and spread the massage of peace through out the world . In the present scenario, our Saints sitting in higher reaches of Himalayas and in shrines , should also pray and come down to their folks to motivate them enmasse for peace in the region .

RBI's credit policy

Sir,

The October 22 RBI declaration reducing CRR by whopping 2 percent & Bank rate by half percent seem to augur well for a sagging economy like India while the whole world is soaking in economic recession this year.

Yet in the Indian context where the market is already flush with overflowing resources and the industry dampened by the global stagnant growth, the present scenario where the Indian consumer market is retreating its Previous outpacing steps -it looks as if RBI has made supply in excess to demand. The ever-clipping purchasing power due to higher tax rates implying far-reduced "net income in hand" has forced salaried class which comprises mainly of middle class of India, to stay indoors and if compelled only to indulge in window-shopping. The luring schemes of financial institutions & banks offering further reduced rate of interest on credits haven't rekindled down spirits when this year budget hasn't offer much reduction in tax rates.

In addition to it, the war in Afghanistan has pushed rupee wavering down against the US dollar and sensex has functioned erractically thus down charging foreign & local invertors so much so that foreign inflow has almost ground-halted.

Though Kudos to the Govt. that it hasn't taken advantage of the war in Afghanistan and kept down the inflation rate by keeping poise and sharp watch over the movement of economic burpings.

However in the hindsight it is presumed that bank rate shouldn't have been reduced. It seems the RBI has kept in mind the high volume industry in mind whereas the lowering in deposit rates by banks and other shall force the small depositor to shun away from saving which may affect National saving time only one percent cut in CRR would have been sufficient to meet whatsoever (perceived) increased demand for liquidity which in essence seem not to exist at the moment.
