POONCH, Oct 5: A group of 12 foreign mercenaries of Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami (HUJI) outfit that was on way to Afghanistan via Pakistan responding to Taliban supremo Mullah Omar’s call to join their struggle against United States troops were eliminated by troops of Bihar Regiment and 3/11 Gorkha Rifles at forward village of Thambiot Chajla in Mankot area of Mendhar tehsil this morning. An army jawan also lost his life in the encounter while another soldier was seriously injured and has been airlifted to Command Hospital in Udhampur.............more
