Hepatitis-B Vaccination campaign

Sir,

The Industries and Commerce Minister Dr. Mustafa Kamal launched Hepatitis-B vaccination campaign in Jammu province on November 7 which had already been launched in Kashmir Province on 14th Sept. by the Chief Minister. The campaign has been organised by the functionaries of health and medical education department in collaboration with the multinational pharmaceutical firms like WOCKHARDT. The Company is providing vaccines on highly subsidized rates, the average cost is one third of the normal cost.

It is all to make the J&K State Ist Hepatitis-B free State in the country. Dr. Kamal hoped that India the 2nd most populous country of the world could be made Hepatitis -B free by such coordinated efforts. But to achieve the target there is strong need for educating the people about the dangers of Hepatitis-B virus. The people should know that persistant infection of Hepatitis-B virus in body causes chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. They should know that it is 100 times more infectious than AIDS and its tough virus survives on dry surfaces for at least one week. It is widely prevalent in the county and one in every 25 Indians is a carrier of Hepatitis -B virus.

To achieve the target of making J&K State Ist Hepatitis -B free State in the country and to prevent himself from Hepatitis B infection every body should be got vaccinated. There is no treatment of this disease except its vaccination of full course of all three infections. Half treatment is useless, so get full course and also tell your relatives and neighbourers to get full course of its vaccination.

It has been seen that poor people are avoiding to get themselves vaccinated. It is perhaps due to the lack of money. So Govt. should make it free of cost at least for the people living below poverty line if not possible to all.

Where is CAEE functioning?

Sir,

CAEE vide Notification No. 158 CAEE of 2001 dated 23.10.2001 invited application (alongwith photocopy of admit card and marks secured in CET 2001) from the candidate's belonging to GDP, SC and ST category for some vacant seats in REC Srinagar. According to it, the application must reach the office of 9-A Poloview Srinagar/Mini Sectt. Jammu by or before 5th of November. As I one of the candidates went to mini Sect. Jammu to sumbit my application I was told by one of the employee working in CAEE Jammu that they are unable to accept the application because they don't have any office to sit and we have to wait till they will get new office someway here or there. He told me that the date will be extended beyond Nov. 5 and I need to wait. I then applied to the office of 9-A Poloview Srinagar and after two weeks I received my letter back saying that office is shifted from Srinagar to Jammu.

I again went to Mini Sectt. to enquire and came to know that the office is existing nowhere. What a Joke? What a shame on the part of Government ?

I, therefore, request the Government and the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to overcome this problem and without any further delay make CAEE functional again so that it is able to discharge its duties once again and the future of students like me which is at stake will be saved.

Declare result

Sir,

The result of class 12th students who have appeared for re-appear papers is getting delayed unnecessarily from the State Board of School Education while as the result class 12th students appeared under CBSE has since been declared and has helped the students to get the admission in other provisional courses and thus saving the most crucial one year of their career.

Kindly oblige by putting our voice to the concerned authorities (State Board of School Education) to declare the result of 12th class (Re-appeared candidates) as early as possible so that these helpless students are helped in getting admission in other professional courses inside and outside of the State and save the one year of their career.
