NEW DELHI, May 28: Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is its integral part, India today rejected Pakistan’s demand for a referendum in the State and ruled out any role for Hurriyat Conference in the Vajpayee-Musharraf talks. "The whole of J and K is an integral component of India and that stand remains unaltered. The question of referendum does not simply arise," External Affairs and Defence Minister Jaswant Singh said at a crowded press conference here...........more
