Screening 'A' Movies

Sir,

Recently, I happened to pass-by a city theatre in the morning. There was a great crowd in front of the ticket counter. In the crowd, a few minors were also there struggling to get a ticket. I was surprised to see the effort they were putting to get just a cinema ticket. Many students were also there in their school uniforms and it was not a holiday and no school was closed.

When I looked up at the hoarding to see which movie was being shown, I got shocked to see that theatre was screening an 'A' rated movie.

When I looked at the crowd again I found that those small children were inside the theatre without any objection from the theatre staff and students in there uniforms were also finding a way in without any objection. But here was a different story. Theatre staff completely ignored the rules they are bound to follow. But who cares?

They are just concerned with the money which people pay to get inside the hall and surprisingly couple of police officials were standing near the theatre. Few days ago I happened to go to Video galary to get a cassette and there I saw cassettes of many 'A' rated movies on display.

When we were about to leave, a small boy come and asked for an 'A' rated movies and to my surprise the shopkeeper gave him the cassette after charging the required amount. I felt shy and ashamed even looking at these cassettes and a small boy asked for one and left in presence of Police who was standing there.

Even few months ago there was a complaint lodged by the parents of many children that Siti channel should stop the showing of FTV which they thought was spoiling the children but no complaint has been registered against the theatres and shopkeepers who indulge in such practices. If the parents are concerned about their children, can't they see what is happening in their city?

These things are slowly but steadily spoiling the people of all ages and specially children. The concerned authorities should look into the matter quite seriously.

Gunmen's Atrocities

Sir,

When the combat tendency of two individuals two parties, two nations by challenging each other reach to the climax, battle comes to exist. War is to attack and to defend, but the golden rule of war is to defend than attack. Any gunman who carries a gun in his hand ignores the mundane law of war. In war, sick, aged children, women and surrendered are not attacked, war prisoners and given proper security and cure. Now-a-days any person who holds a gun in his hand kills and inflicts the innocents out of prejudice, jealousy and envy. The innocents are even used as shield. It is the natural justice that who kills the innocents, plunder properties and sets the houses on fire meet with the same end.

The wars of Mahabharat, Al-Bader and Troy were fought between righteous and unrighteous. Those wars were declared wars wherein innocents were not victimised. Hence gunmen must stop the atrocities.

I would like to warn the gunmen who are killing the innocents without their any fault, that they shall have to meet with eventualities when the Almighty asks them for doing and committing the frequent sins.

Reschedule power cuts

Sir,

This has reference to announcement of the Power Minister about the reduction in power-cut to 5/1/2 hours in order to provide relief to the common people from the scorching heat during the summer season. In this connection, I bring to draw the attention of the Minister to the following few points, which need immediate action:-

The reduction in the power cuts is welcome, but it failed to achieve its motive because the time-schedule of the cuts is not right. The power-cuts are being made during the peak hours, when the people need immediate relief from the scorching heat.

The second and third cuts are totally undesirable and taxing. The second cuts is made between 2 to 6 pm It is time when the office goers return to homes after the day work and wish to take some rest after the lunch. However, they usually get disappointed when the light goes off.

Moreover, the third cut is totally unwarranted and unbearable, especially from 9 to 10.30 PM

In the light of the above, it is requested that:-

There should be no third cut.

The duration of the cut should be reduced from five and half hours to four and half hours.

There should be no power-cut from 2 to 5 PM

The duration of the morning cut may be enhanced from two to three hours, from 7 to 10 am or from 6 to 9 am.

The second cut be of only one and half hours, from 5 to 6.30 pm or from 6 to 7.30 pm.
