Need of the hour
Sir,
In October 1947,
Pakistan Army commanded by a Britisher (General
Gracy?) raided the J&K State, which was
independent. And then, after a few months,
Instrument of Accession had to be signed by
Maharaja Hari Singh duly accompanied by Sheikh
Mohammed Abdullah, leader of masses. Government
of India, on their own, provided 'subject to
plebiscite' may be under advice and Governor
General, Lord Mountbattan, again a Britisher.
Indian forces,
with active support of Kashmir public, fought and
repulsed the attack. But, instead of continuing
the winning war, India went to UNO against
Pakistan, may be under advice of Lord Moutbattan,
which resulted in an unfamiliar cease-fire. So,
booty could be conveniently retained by invader.
Since than,
neither has UNO done any thing to oust Pak, nor
could stop skirmishes from across the border
besides two full fledged wars to 1965 & 1971,
nor did India make any concrete efforts to
educate masses, particularly Kashmiri Muslims as
to what were the circumstances forcing the
Maharaja who wanted to remain independent to run
to Delhi for protection and aid and how much
wrong has been done by Britishers by dividing us
on two Nation theory basis though all Indians has
been living happily for centuries and jointly
fought against British rule and this penalty to
our Nation.
Now the position
has reached a stage where State Muslims excepting
microscopic minority, are being led to believe by
eminent persons like Syed Ali Shah Geelani that
dispute involves all the Muslim dominated areas.
His statement no Page No. 3 of Srinagar Times
(Urdu) dated: 31.3.2001 mentions all such areas.
There is no explicit condemnation, what so ever
to this dangerous propaganda. Blood of Kashmir
Muslims, minorities and Security Forces is now
every cheap as exhibited in Daily Papers. Other
side RSS Chief says that Muslims should change
their names to Hindu pattern and stop looking
towards Mecca.
Both of these
theories can not meet at any point, hence not
only this poor state but whole of the country
erstwhile India-(Hindustan) is again being landed
into Two-Nation theory. We have passed through
holocaust of 1946, to 1950 said to be at the
instigation of Britishers, but who is planning
for both the sides now? Senior Citizens are well
aware of the destruction of against country of
ancient culture.
Who is going to
take up the challenge of impending vivisection of
the composite society? If some positive steps are
not initiated immediately, the Country and its
population -poor and illiterate (Nehru's words in
Parliament)- will go to dogs and will obliterate,
only God Almighty knows the end. RSS as well as
persons of Mr.Geelani's ilk will also get
engulfed in catastrophe and no one will be left
to extinguish the fire. Is our country/society
left with no literate, sincere and sane persons
who can proclaim once again-
"Muzhab nahin
sikhata apas main bair rakhna"?
Such personalities
must get up from slumber with prayer to God for
granting strength to them for coming out
successful in this sublime ideal.
