Akhnoor Bar in favour of Fast Track Court system

Excelsior Correspondent

AKHNOOR, May 4: Akhnoor Bar Association today passed a resolution wherein strike by Jammu and Kathua Bar Association was strongly condemned.

As per a release, the Akhnoor Bar Association in a general meeting condemned the strike by Jammu and Kathua Bar Associations pertaining to the opening of Fast Track Courts in the tehsil headquarters.

The speakers fully applauded the efforts of Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court and elaborated that opening of Fast Track Courts at tehsil level is a right step in its right perspective as it would meet the demand of poor and down trodden people living in the remote areas. They further said that the people would get speedy and less expensive justice at their door-steps instead of running to District Headquarters where heaps of files remain intact.

The Bar members fully supported the step taken by the Samba Bar and other Bars of the Muffasails. A vehement request was made to the Jammu and Kathua Bars to withdraw their agitation as it is not justified and not to go into the technicalities of the Fast Track Court system as no prediction could be made until and unless the working of the courts is not brought into operation at tehsil headquarters.

The Bar members appealed the people of the State to come forward to make this exercise a grand success as it would meet the needs of the poor litigants and the sacred mission undertaken by the Chief Justice.
