Mar 29 : A special economic
incentives package for comprehensive
development of the beleagured Jammu and
Kashmir State on the lines of the North
Eastern region will be sought from the
Centre soon with no additional revenue
forthcoming for the border State,
according to Union Industries and
Commerce Minister, Omar Abdullah.
Addressing a press conference at the
Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone
(VEPZ) after participating in several
infrastructure expansion-cum-development
programmes, Mr Abdullah said the Jammu
and Kashmir was forced to spend Rs 3700
crore towards staff salaries as against
its meagre Rs 650 crore tax revenue in an
