Convent Admissions
Sir,
I want to submit
my grievances with the administration of
Presentation Convent School, Gandhinagar, Jammu.
I applied for the admission of my daughter for
the class Ist and submitted my application form
with all the formalities completed and the same
was received on 27th Jan. 2001 under the No: 459.
Knowing that the
interviews for the Class Ist are being held in
the month of March every year, so I was waiting
for the call letter. On 14th Feb. I was passing
through the Gandhinagar area and went to confirm
about the said case. But the gatekeeper/(Bahadur)
who did not allow to enter the school, told me
that two batches of call letters have been sent
and two batches are to be posted yet. He also
told me to wait upto 28th Feb.
Unfortunately upto
28th February I was not able to receive any call
letter for interview and in the after noon went
again to the school where the same gate-keeper
informed me that the interviews have already been
conducted on 20th, 21st and 22nd of Feb. 2001. I
was surprised to listen to him. Tried to enter
the school but he did not allow.
In the evening of
28th I got the telephone number of the Principal
(Sister RoseLima) from the directory and tried to
contact her. There one of the nice sisters
listened to me patiently and directed me to come
on Ist March morning.
On March 1, I went
there at 8.00 AM and entered the school and
waited upto 9.00 AM as the visiting hours of the
Principal are 9 AM to 10 AM Meanwhile, I talked
to Mr. Alexender Mr. Alex about my problem who
categorically refused and blamed that were are
coming with the excuses and they had pasted the
notice on the notice board.
After waiting upto
9.30 AM a person came to the visitors room where
I was waiting and told me that Principal has
refused to meet any parent regarding the
admissions as the same Chapter is closed.
I came out of the
school with a broken heart knowing that nobody
has listened to me for none of my fault.
Through your
esteemed columns I want to ask the Principal that
if interviews were taken in the March month every
year, why it was done in the month of Feb 2001?
Also in the month of Feb. 2001. there was curfew,
bandhs and hartals for about 15 days due to which
also so many persons were not able to receive
letters well on time.
Thirdly, every
notice of Convent School is confined to the
notice board of the school and how does a common
man know about the notice which does not come out
of the school, wherethere in any newspaper of
vice versa.
So once again I
request the Principal and the administrative
Section of the Convent School of look into the
matter and not to play with the careers of
children and with the dreams of the parents who
have a lot of expectations from the children.
Yours etc...
