Debacle of Indian Cricket

Sir,

Give them an inch and they will take a mile is proverb well suited for Australian Team. The recent performance of Australian team has been astonishing. By winning 15 test in a row and now making Indian to bite the dust to win their 16th consecutive win proves their mettle. Indian Captain Mr. Ganguly tried to tie them down by verbal dual, but they gave him a fitting reply by winning the test only in three days, only first time in India.

Is it worth for a captain representing 1 billion people to give such statements. Steve Waugh was very clever by letting him know that in the 15 tests which they won India was involved in three of them.

Indian selectors did not even to justice to select the team. What was fun in selecting Narender Hirmani after a gap of 5 years and then not selecting him in playing eleven and gave a chance to Rahul Sanghvi. After completely failing in one day cricket Rahul Sanghvi was given test cap and was given chance against mighty Austrian. Here I totally agree with Sir Sunil Gavaskar who told to a private channel that every Tom Dick and Hary gets easily an Indian cap.

Such is the State of Indian Cricket that in the whole test India scored 395 runs out of which Tendulkar scored 141 run i.e. 36 percent of runs. Now what will we say: Is it India V/s Australia or Tendulkar V/s Australia. It is a game of 11 great players who believe in themselves V/s one player i.e. Tendulkar who believe in himself.

What is fun of Sourav Ganguly now pleading selectors to include him in Board President XI at Delhi when he missed all the Ranji Trophy and Deodhar Trophy matches. When Sourav got run out as result of mix up with Dravid in second innings, he got very angry with Dravid and beat the bat to ground. As far as cricket is concerned Dravid was having no fault. It is all lack of match practice.

If Indian team has to come back in coming two tests they have to believe in themselves and they are now faced with problem of two frontline bowlers out in cold How can a team afford a player like Srinath and Kumble out. If in Indian team there are good all-rounders like Ajit Agarkar who has scored seven ducks in a row with Australia the future of our cricket is bright.

Inspite of all this, I wish Indian team best of luck and give a slogan "Yeh Dil Mange More".

Inspiring figure

Sir,

ABVP Activists who raised slogans in State Assembly were described as "Bhagat Singh" and Rajguru" by BJP MLA. But he did not disclose as to who was Lala Lajpat Rai. It was Lala Lajpat Rai's sacrifice which inspired Bhagat Singh to bomb the Assembly Hall. Can local MLAs or MP claim to be inspiring figure? For these student my plea to these leaders is that they should not feel happy over this protest in the Assembly. It was virtually against you people. Your failure has compelled these student leaders to adopt this course of bringing matter in the Assembly. As for as MLAs from Kashmir are concerned they are doing every thing for their people. You MLAs and MPs must do your duty. First you become Lajpat Rai's and then find out Bhagat Singhs. It is not possible for you unless you follow the principle of Lala Lajpat Rai as well as his foot steps. So, it is my advice to you to have character like that of Lala Lajpat Rai.

Government and Power shortage

Sir,

No doubt, there is a shortage of electricity in the J&K State and the people are without electricity for most of the time during day and night. This has been happening for the last three years. To come up the problem, the Electric Deptt. of the State has ordered cuts in the supply of the electricity in the State. Not only this, the rates of the Electric charges have also been enhanced fourfold bypassing the existing by-laws of the Department under which the Government is bound to supply the electricity to the consumers 24 hours a day. Inspite of all this, the people of Jammu co-operated with the Government in paying the enhanced rates. It is well known fact that on festival days, the Electric supply is generally restored throughout the day and night but recently it has been noticed that even on festival days like New year day, Republic Day, Shiv Ratri and Lohri, the electricity supply was not restored, the reason is not known to the consumers. Thus by not restoring the electric supply on festival days, the State Governments has shown her incompetency and as such she also played with the sentiments of the Jammuites. But it has been observed that on the eve of Eid, the Electric supply remained restored throughout day and night. We are against such tactics of the so-called democratic Government which gives a special treatment to a particular cases and ignores other communities.

I do hope that this letter of mine would surely compell the Government to keep in mind in the future that no injustice is done to the minority communities, particularly, on the religious grounds in the State.

Yours etc...
