Rehabilitate orphans
Sir,
This is in
reference to the write up in your paper dated 12
July "Demolition in Haveli Area to greet
Musharraf" It is unfortunate that the orphan
Ripu and Jaini's house has been demolished to
make Musharraf's ancestral Haveli look beautiful.
We cannot leave the innocent children on streets
for greeting a general who few months ago had led
an aggression on our country and now even his
visit is becoming suspicious for his dual
mindedness. I appeal to the Government that these
orphan children who have suffered to this
demolition should immediately be rehabilitated
without any fail.

Cautious approach
Sir,
Though a landmark
in modern history and uprecedented in the recent
past, the much hyped about summit at Agra has a
very strange angle which is quite hard to
explain.
Representing a
country which is out and out a terrorist state,
one which is neck deep in political and economic
problems, one which has not even reached the
basic threshold stage of a modern socio-economic
nation, one which has absolute disregard for
social/democratic rules, customs and norms of
Governance, the head of Pakistan has usurped
power forcefully and does not represent the true
will of its masses. The red carpet royal
treatment which was laid out for him would have
been justified more for a leader of an
industrialised economic power. The only trump
card in Pakistan's possession is the ability to
create a nuisance for India on her western
borders.
India being the
4th largest economy in the universe boasts of
being a global (IT) super power and a
sociointellectual think Tank, producing one
million cars a year, 30 millino tons of steel, 10
billion dollars worth of electric goods every
year and having a very sophisticated standing
army coupled with the largest Navy in Asia.
Pakistan cannot come near any form of comparison
in any sector.
Not too long ago,
our respected and well meaning Prime Minister
made an overture of friendship through Bus
diplomacy. He was "Rewarded" by a
military incursion at Kargil which was the brain
child of the present Leader. How can we expect
confidence building measures to be effective when
we have lost all confidence.
To sum up, it is
very creditable indeed that a positive meeting of
minds is arising and might result in defusing
tension for both coutries. However, that Kargil
episode has taught us a very valuable lesson,
that is to proceed with extreme care and caution.

Sir,
I
I read the
discourse "Salvation through yoga"
written by Swami Ram Saroop published in the
Sunday Magazine of Daily Excelsior. It gives a
great inspiration to do Yoga in daily life. This
will help us to keep physically fit and by doing
Yoga regularly as per teachings described in Four
Vedas Ramayana, Geeta, Upnishads and as enshrined
in the discourse, one can attain the final
liberation stage.
Hoping that such
discourses written by Swami Ram Saroop will be
published in your Sunday Magazine in the near
future also. I also request to the Swami Ji to
contiune to write such articles on the Yoga so
that maximum people can obtain the knowledge of
Yoga.

Swami Ram Saroop Jee published in the Sunday
Magazine date July 8, 2001 in your daily has
provided an excellent information. The teachings
contained therein have a universal appeal and are
absolutely free from Sectarianism or dogmatic
touch. The teachings can be read with equal
benefit by the followers of all religions and, if
followed with reverence, are sure to take them to
lofty spiritual heights.
The teaching of
Swami Jee, that when a disciplined mind rests in
the self alone, then the person, who is free from
desire of all objects, is said to be established
in Yoga and Yoga means control of mind, a stage
when mind will come to rest attaching no
importance to the word, will definitely help the
mankind to agitate their minds, clear their
vision, be away from obstacles like prestige,
honour, greed, contact of sences on way to
spritual peace and realization of Ultimate Truth.
We the readers of
your daily, request for more articles on the
teachings of Shri Swami Jee for spiritual
knowledge and for mitigating the sorrows and
sufferings of mankind.
