Panchayat elections Sir, The decision taken by the State Govt., headed by the Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah for holding Panchayat Elections in J&K State on Non party basic after a gap of over 23 years is, no doubt, a bold step which deserves all appreciation; this announcement has virtually injected a new life and hope amongst the rural masses in general and those desirous to take part and contest the election at grass root level. All these persons, have started their activities and movement in the rural areas to know the details of Panchayat Halquas (which are going to be constituencies for Sarpanches and those for Panchayat constitutes. But, it is unfortunate, that no serious attention so far appears to have been paid by the authorities at the helm of affairs in the concerned department to make these details available to public through press or other means, but seems to have kept these very important data as secret, perhaps to facilitate the unopposed entry of their touts into the Panchayats. It is very surprising that such details have not have provided to the political parties till now who too were heard of criticizing the system. It is there fore requested that these facts be highlighted, brought to the notice of Chief Minister through your esteemed papers for the convenience of rural masses before it is too late and the general criticism is avoided, So that early orders to have these immediately published are issued by the Government. Recognize the enemy Sir, Many Indians think that Pakistanis are friendly, but its the Pakistani Government which is supporting terrorism against India. They think that there is general goodwill for India in Pakistan, but it is subverted by their Government. I hope such Indians are aware of the daily killings and bombings being done in India by Pakistani terrorists. They are killing our civilians and soldiers in Kashmir, north-east, New Delhi and other parts of the country. During the Kargil war, there was an interview of a Pakistani soldier who was entrenched on top of a hill. In it he said that he had killed so many Indian soldiers who were trying to climb up the hill "that my fingers were aching just by keeping the trigger of my LMG pressed." He said that he had fulfilled the wish of his previous 7 generations and next 7 generations of killing Hindu soldiers (never mind that the Indian army consists of non-Hindus also). Pakistan has been bleeding India alive. Just think about the number of people killed by them in the past 20 years. Even one soldier dead should be one too many. Here we are talking about 1000s of dead! And this does not even include the 400, 000 (year, 4 lakh) Kashmiri Hindus thrown out of Kashmir by Pakistan-backed terrorists! It may be correct that not all Pakistanis are against India. If you look un-emotionally, there may be 1 or 2 percent of Pakistanis who favour good ties with India. The fact remains that an overwhelming majority of Pakistanis want to see India destroyed, and the Hindus killed. Have such Indians read the accounts of the Jehad camps set up in Pakistan? The Jehadis, the people and the government of Pakistan know what they want: to finish India. And here we are, ever ready to give the benefit of doubt to our sworn enemies! Instead of talking revenge, instead of talking about preventing future attacks from Pakistan, we still treat them as friends because some Pakistanis may be good-natured. wow!!! Would such dim-hearted Indians rather be safe, or would they take the risk of blindly loving the enemy 'because some Pakistanis may be good'? We all must learn from history, and especially from recent history. No amount of wishful thinking can turn an enemy into a friend, if the enemy is determined to exterminate you. We Indians not only do not realize this fact and take steps to protect ourselves, we willfully close our eyes and invite more trouble! Yours etc... |
