SRINAGAR, Feb 10: While the authorities have begun to smell a rat behind Friday evening’s Lashkar-e-Toiba attack on the heavily-guarded Police Control Room (PCR), as many as eight Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel have got killed against two militant cadres in the overnight gunbattle. As the State Government is likely to order a departmental inquiry into the circumstances that made the militants’ action possible, the dreaded pan-Islamist organisation has now declared an open war on the entire Police force, be that active or passive in counter-insurgency operations....................more
