It's India's
battle
Sir,
The Dec. 13 is the
saddest day for the Indian democracy since that
day the suicide bombers attacked the Parliament.
This unprecedented act of terrorism is in
continuation to the earlier militant attacks on
Red Fort last December, Sept. 11 attack on the
World Trade Centre and Oct. Ist attack on the
J&K legislature.
The message of the
terrorists is loud and clear they can strike at
any of the chosen targets defying the security
bandobast. For them India is thus a soft target.
This attack on the Parliament has shown the
vulnerability of our security and intelligence
apparatus. And thus the faith of the common man
regarding the safety of his life and property has
been shattered.
When on Oct. Ist
the State legislature of the J&K was
attacked, it should have served as a timely
reminder for our Government at the Centre about
the things to happen in the coming days, but our
Prime Minister shot off a letter to the US
President conveying that the patience of the
people of India is wearing thin, instead of
taking some tough measures to deal with this
menace of terrorism. It must be remembered by our
political leadership that as a sovereign nation
Indian has to fight its battle itself. The
political leadership of the country has time and
again given the impression of talking tought but
meek action, which has emboldened the terrorists
which are striking now and then to bleed India
profoundly and terrorise the people.
The security
personnel deployed at the Parliament premises has
redeemed some honour of the country as they have
killed the suicide bombers and put an end to the
nefarious designs and for this brave and
exemplary courage and presence of mind, they
deserve all our praise. We also slaute to the
security personnel who sacrified their lives for
the honour of the temple of Indian
democracy-Parliament and I am sure their names
would be written in the golden letters and would
inspire the others for their selfless service to
the nation.
Yours etc...
Devinder Kumar Ghagwal
Mohalla Afghana,
