Acupressure treatment in Jammu

Sir,

It is heartening to note that various alternative system of medicines including Acupressure are increasingly drawing the attention of both medical practitioners and the public. There is undoubtedly a tremendous need to adopt Acupressure system of treatment which involves no medicines, as most of the medicines, apart from the cost aspect, cause side effects which are quite often worse than the disease itself. Acupressure system which possess both curative and preventive values, suits our country most as this system is an ancient method of treatment for almost all the ailments. This system of treatment of now is gaining popularity in the Country being most economical, devoid of any side effect and having permanent curative values. It is invariably more efficacious as its exactitude is credulous and not only believable but appeasable and impressive. It stimulates the life energy back to the effected diseased body part and restores internal healing activities in ailments permanently without any side effect. It does not require any other intermediary aid of medicine or electricity. Under this system, the illness is cured by pulling out is hidden roots through pressure thus impressive enough to react in the mind and the body. It provides confidence and ray of light to all such patients who have last hope of survival. It is most trustful and gives quick results to the patients.

Some curative effects of Acupressure are :

1.Disease invades a person when blood flow to the organ is hampered which in turn does not allow nervous system to the fuction normally. The organ may become cold or even overheated due to abnormal flow of blood. By Acupressure blood flow is normalised and malfunctions is set right.

2. Some crystals get accumulated at the ends of blood vessels in hands and feet, causing blockade of blood flow. By applying clockwise pressure on the reflex points, the crystals are dislodged and pass out alongwith urine. Accordingly to this concept it is due to accumulation of these crystals that pain is experienced on touching these reflex points and when disease is right pain also disappears and crystals pass out by acupressure.

3. Blood flow to any organ is essential for nourishment and oxidation of food to release energy. If blood flow is not normal, waste materials, uric acid, carbon dioxide and various toxic substances, lactic acid etc. accumulate giving pain and lenthargy. Disease reflex centres may become hot cold, numb, oily, dry, painful, hard or discoloured or stained causing imbalance and diseases. Applying pressure at specific points stimulates antibody production and the immunity system is activated. The body already has energy and natural immunity system to set right and prevent disease. This needs to be activated by acupressure to set right disturbance automatically.

4. Five elements in the body produce bio-electricity. There is leakage of current in the reflex centres (response centres) of feet and hands.

By pressing these points leakage is stopped and electric flow is normalised.

Properly applied Acupressure not only relieves pain and tension but can successfully treat complaints as varied as Arthritis, Headaches, Migraine, Asthma, Impotency, back disorders, Frozen shoulders, Back and Joint pains, Sinus trouble, sciatica, Cervical Spondylosis, gout, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Constipation, Leucorrphoea, Nervous disorder, Piles, Prostate, Bed wetting in children, disorder of speech in children, weight and height problems and help in recovering from strokes/paralysis and neurological diseases. KAS results & discrimination

Sir,

This is in reference to article captioned ''Much ado about KAS result'' which appeared in your esteemed paper of August 14, 2001. The writer has sincerely attended to the factual analysis of the news items giving veracity of the allegations of discrimination against the candidates of Kashmir division in the J&K Combined Services selection and has explained the status in the light of the marks list (both in written and viva)displayed by PSC.

It is unfortunate that disgruntled elements and especially the legislators of the ruling party (who should represent all the subjects without prejudice) grudge the excellence of candidates of Jammu region over their counterparts of Kashmir region. This is sheer manifestation of the facts that they want to maintain their hegemony in every field. They take for granted that the bulk share in all the selections and appointments should go to Kashmir Valley only. After the clarification issued by the Public Service Commission that the %age of the candidates of Kashmir and Jammu regions who are selected for the J&K Combined Service is almost in the same proportion in which they have qualified for the interview. We appreciate that atleast for the sake of the transparency the PSC has disclosed the entire process of evaluation and computation of the result of written examination reportedly assigned to outside agencies. Now, Commission have gone a step further by making public the marks secured by the candidates both in the Main Examination and also in the interview in a bid to dispel the doubts raised about the fairness of the selection by the disgruntled elements and left outs.

The statistics drawn out and quoted are highly revealing and indicative of the generous attitude adopted by the Commission in doing out higher marks to the candidates of a particular region. It has rightly conjectured that liberal awarding of marks to candidates of Kashmir region has been instrumental in improving their merit at the cost of candidates of Jammu region. In fact the candidates of Jammu region and not of Kashmir region have been discriminated in this selection. A case in point is of Vikram Magotra (Roll No. 23239) who despite obtaining 1011 marks out of 1950 marks in the written test could not be selected because he was awarded meager 145 marks out of 240 marks in the interview, whereas Abreen Bashir (Roll No. 00160) who obtained only 968 marks out of 1950 marks in the written test was selected because Commission generously awarded him 220 marks out of 240 marks in the interview.

The ruling party MLAs and some disgruntled elements are vying each other in fomenting flames of regional passions by dubbing that the result of Combined Services Examination as ''murder of Intellect of Kashmiri students''. Day and day out fabricated stories are planted in the print media of Kashmir by these persons who are hell bent upon arousing the regional passions for their ulterior motives.

There are strong under currents in the minds of Jammuites that the uncalled out brusts and allegations of discrimination against Kashmir region would pressurize the Commission members to harden further their attitude towards candidates of Jammu region. If the trend of marks awarded in interview to candidates of Jammu region in the selection of Combined Service is of any indication then still harsher treatment is in store for the candidates of Jammu region in the days to come in all the future selections which are based mainly on the interview marks.

We are thus compelled to request the political leadership, through the column of your esteemed daily, to rise above the narrow political interests and raise one voice for safeguarding the interest of the educated youth of Jammu and to remove the regional disparities. Failing, this may become genesis for demanding a fixed quota for Jammu region in all future selections/appointments besides equitable representation of Jammu Division on the Public Service Commission.
