Mini Pakistan in Bihar

Sir,

About 10 years ago, Lalloo yadav started importing Bangladeshis for a vote bank. Now they have become the majority The original inhabitants are being harassed by these muslims Goonda tactics are used to make us sell our property at a low price to them and leave. Just like the kashmiri pandits, we are slowly being driven out of our homeland.

For the sake of the vote bank, no action is being taken against the illegal aliens There are now over 20 lakh illegal aliens in the kishengunj
area. Pakistani flags are openly flown and Pakistani anthem is openly broadcast ISI activities are taking place all the time. An even more nefarious plot is underway Muslim leaders want another bifurcation of bihar called Seemanchal to consist of the north-east districts of bihar. This will create another muslim majority state and we will have a repeat of the kashmir problem.

Separate State for Jammu

Sir,

I would like to thank Lt. Col Mukund Singh Jamwal (Retd) for contributing his view point on trifurcation of J&K State as published in Daily Excelsior dated 25th Oct. 2000, which would definitely, have an impact on the minds of people of both the regions of Jammu and Ladakh as also KPs who have been worst sufferers of unfair domination of Kashmiri rulers over them eversince the State was acceded to Union of India by late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, the great grandson of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji in Oct. 1947. They are being treated as 2nd class citizens like MQM in Pakistan. There is no secret that in every field of State's development whether it is a case of recruitment, or it be a selection in Professional Colleges, Jammuites, Ladakhis and KPs have been discriminated during all the periods of NC Rule.

A little blame can also be put on Jammu leadership which had remained servile after Pt Prem Nath Dogra Ji. They seem to be very ardent for Jammu's cause in public speeches but they could not rise above the party affiliation and played politics for the purpose of politics.

There are living examples of Greater Autonomy and settlement bills passed in Assembly. These bills are against the interest of Jammuites, jeopardizing the economy and integration of Jammu region. While the former is under query by the Govt of India, the latter has been kept in abeyance because of strong opposition by Jammuites. But our leadership had very little credit to dissent these bills strongly and did not involve the people and areas at grass root level. So far as Jammuites are concerned they need true and honest leadership and do not hesitate even to sacrifice their lives for Jammu's cause.

But, now, when the population of Jammu region has exploded during this decade to such an extent that it fulfills the norms of Govt of India Constitution to have a status of independent State. It is one thing that process of delimitation census or updating of voter lists has always been delayed intentionally just to avoid toppling of Jammu region. It is quite another thing that Jammu region has undoubtedly attained the status of Statehood and this fact cannot be ignored by any authority. It may take some time in passing the bill of Jammu Independent State to be carved out of Jammu and Kashmir, thus dividing the Jammu and Kashmir into two states of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as a Union Territory.

Jammuites should not lose any more time in organising the peaceful agitation throughout the Jammu Region to educate rural people at grass root level to press the demand for Jammu State as suggested by Lt Col Jamwal in his view point in Daily Excelsior dated 25.10.2000 referred to above. In this regard a J&K Front has already been formed under the presidentship of Jagdish Raj Dubey MLA from Bishnah Constituency and other various members of different parties. Jammu is already an independent State but only official announcement is awaited through Parliament process. Be united whatever the cost we have to pay.

Status of women in India

Sir,

This is in reference to the article 'Status of Women in today's world' by Anjini Razdan (DE 25th October). The author has really felt the need for women upliftment through their empowerment, which is quite appreciable. It would have been impressive if the author would have highlighted the place of Indian women in comparison to other countries and also the effective means of achieving the women empowerment. I would like to add the following lines to the views of Anjini Razdan.

Since Independence, we are trying to remove the regional social and cultural imbalances so as to streamline the development for the welfare of the nation as a whole. Every government at the centre as well as State, strived hard to remove these imbalances among the countrymen. One of these imbalances dominant in the pre-independence era was the position of women in the society. The development in the status of women in India is remarkable. It can be seen by the increasing number of women in various fields. The Governments have stressed on women welfare. It can be seen in various opportunities provided to them on one hand and decrease in number of dowry deaths, sexual abuse etc. on the other, through various preventive laws. But still much is required to be done to achieve this goal.

Women indeed have come a long way in all spheres which were hitherto considered exclusively male bastions. But, still wome have to go a long way in such crucial areas as employment education, health of decision making.

Women are still at the receiving end of male chauvinism, barring a few noticeable exceptions in politics, management, films and other spheres of life activity. Much needs to be done to ameliorate their lot.

Trouble some Traffic Jams

Sir,

I would like to draw the kind attention of Traffic Police authorities towards the frequent traffic Jams on either side of the railway under-bridge near Narwal Mandi. The Major causes of such traffic jams include wrong parking stoppage of Metadors of Chhanni-Himmat and Narwal routes. These metador operators often stop their vehicles on either side of the aforesaid bridge from where the link roads lead to west Railway colony. Surprisingly, there are a good number of traffic police personnel posted at Ambedkar Chowk but they don't bother to regulate the traffic at the said crucial locality. I personally feel that traffic jams near the said railway under-bridge cause lot of inconvenience to general public (road users) especially office goers as such appealed to the concerned aurthorities to take early action in the said matter in the interest of the general public of this area.

Non functioning Sewerage System

Sir,

The inhabitants of Talab Tillo, especially near and Opp. State Bank of India Colony Bharat Nagar, are facing lot of difficulties due to non-functioning of Nallah constructed by UEED a few years back nearby our houses on the main road.

In absence of proper outlet system, the said Nallah remains full of garbage, filth. After it rains for just 10-15 minutes, the dirty water from Nallah finds its way into our houses. Our lane gets flooded and it becomes very difficult to move out of our houses. We get virtually, house arrested for several hours.

The dirty water emits bad smell and unhygienic conditions start prevailing. The flooded water in our lane also poses a threat to the safety of our houses.

It is therefore, requested to the concerned authorities to take the matter into consideration and redress our grievances.

Yours etc....
