SRINAGAR, Oct 28: Justice Pandian Commission of Inquiry —which had been set up by the State Government to investigate the infamous Brakpora firing incident —has not found any involvement of then SSP Anantnag Farooq Khan and then SHO Achhabal Gazanfar Ali in the broad daylight shootout which had left eight civilians killed and over a dozen injured. However, the act of firing on innocent processionists has been found "unwarranted and unjustified" and seven officials of SOG Anantnag, camp Brakpora, have been found directly responsible for the massacre.........more

RAJOURI, Oct 28: Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF personnel last night foiled an attempt by two Fidayeens (suicide squad) of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit to storm inside the SOG headquarters at Surankote in Poonch district killing, for the first time, a foreign militant hauling from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A CRPF jawan also lost his life in the gun-battle..................more
