DELHI, Oct 20: Jammu and Kashmir
Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah tonight
welcomed the reported move by some
Kashmiri militant groups including Hizbul
Mujahideen about jointly floating a
political party to contest the next
Assembly elections in 2002. "I
welcome the move and pray that good sense
should prevail upon all militant groups
so that ethos of Kashmir is
restored," Abdullah said. The
Chief Minister said these groups should
also try to participate in the
forthcoming Panchayat elections scheduled
to be held in the State on January
