JJSF to observe Oct 18 as Inspiration Day: Jamwal Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 15: In order to highlight the sacrifices of four Jammu students who attained martyrdom while fighting against the what it termed as discrimination of Kashmiri rulers with Jammu region in 1966, the Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) will observe the October 18 as "Inspiration Day". This was stated by Mr Rajinder Singh Jamwal, president JJSF while talking to reporters here today. Mr Jamwal said JJSF is observing martyrdom of these four sons of soil every year for last ten years on October 16,17 and 18 by keeping three days fast and performing Havan. But this year he said a special programme has been charted out by the Federation in order to highlight the sacrifices of these heroes in every nook and corner of the region. He said these four students namely S Gurcharan Singh, Messrs Subash Chander, Gulshan Handa and Brij Mohan have been a source of inspiration for the entire student community and this year two months ago we also started the struggle from the Shahidi Sathal of these martyrs to get the two additional colleges for the drop out students. Mr Jamwal said the JJSFs main aim is that the sacrifices of these martyrs should not go waste and with this objective we are going to take their unfinished task ahead. Making a strong dig at State Government he alleged that efforts are being made to thwart the activities of the Federation by the administration through its hired agents and some gunda elements. Mr Jamwal while strongly condemning the attack on a journalist by these elements in Jammu University Campus some days back alleged that Campus has been converted into a Centre of gundaism which will be strongly resisted by his organization. He said a JJSF activist who tried to rescue the journalist from the gunda elements clutches was also attacked by them. Holding University authorities, administration and police responsible for the attack he alleged that they all are in league with the gunda elements as no action was taken against them for last three days. He while blaming the Government for trying to curtail the activities of JJSF said the security given to the top leadership of the Federation was also removed. He asserted that the Federation will not be cowed down by such activities but instead will continue its struggle to take the present struggle launched for getting a separate statehood to Jammu region to its logical conclusion. Mr Jamwal said the Federation will announce the future course of action during the October 18 programme at Shaheedi Sathal. He while strongly opposing the domination of Kashmiris over the Jammu Region said JJSF is fighting that power be given to Jammu people. He termed the political discrimination as the origin of all discriminations and said once the Jammu is given the status of separate state all discriminations will automatically end. |

State Unity Forum opposes trifurcation of J&K Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 15: Opposing any division of Jammu and Kashmir, the newly constituted State Unity Forum today resolved that it will strive for maintaining the territorial integrity and unity of the state at all costs. Talking to mediapersons here today, the spokesman of the Forum Mr A H Qazi said any division or reorganization of the state as propounded by some "sectarian" forces under the guise of alleged discrimination as one of the solutions to vexed Kashmir problem will lead to disintegration of the state with serious consequences. He asserted that the people of Kargil, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts besides Gool Gulabgarh area of Udhampur district will opt to be the part of existing state polity rather than any newly constituted state. He warned that the slogan of reorganization of J&K is fraught with serious consequences and the powers in Delhi who are advocating this policy are not realising the facts. Terming the demand totally unconstitutional he asserted that neither the Constitution of India nor of J&K permits the reorganization and Parliament under Article 3 of the Constitution of India as applicable to J&K has no unilateral power to create or alter the name or boundary of J&K State without the approval of State Assembly. Mr Qazi said the Unity Forum is of the opinion that problem of J&K must be solved by sincere and result oriented dialogue between the concerned parties including the people of the state. He demanded the implementation of the reports of various commissions constituted from time to time for eradication of regional imbalances and development of remote and rural areas. He said while the major chunk of development funds is being spent in Srinagar and Jammu cities the people in the remote and hilly areas of Kargil, Poonch, Rajouri nd Doda are facing the economic backwardness. He strongly advocated for proportionate representation be given to all the segments of the society belonging to all walks of life within the Constitutional frame work to ensure the due representation of all sections of the society in the field of development and employment. The Forum while seeking the support from the members of the other communities has appealed all the like minded forces to join hands with it in the interest of integrity, stability, communal harmony and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir problem. Mr Qazi maintained that Jammu and Kashmir has been home of the composite culture, languages, religions and caste and to protect its age old pluralistic heritage the unity of the state as a single political unit is must. He said the Forum has constituted a six member presidium with Mr Abdul Majid as its convener. Besides him the other members of the presidium are Messrs Jameel Kazmi, M R Qureshi, Mushtaq Khan and Assan Malik. |

As per a release the aspirants alleged that Question Number 10-B was entirely wrong and meaningless which unnecessarily wasted the precious time of the aspirants and confused them so much that they could not solve even those questions which they knew fully. They alleged further that the question paper ignored questions from four topics namely Tensor, Dynamics, Vector and Hydrostatics, constituting almost half of the whole syllabus on Mathematics Paper-1. They held that syllabus in KAS is equivalent to IAS and atleast one question carrying 60 marks from each above mentioned topics is being asked in IAS. The paper gave under-weightage to only two topics namely Calculus and Geometry comprising four questions each, whereas in IAS hardly three questions are being asked from these two topics. The syllabus is so lengthy and wide that candidates prepare only certain topics keeping in view length of topics and representation of questions in paper as per the pattern. The aggrieved candidates have requested the Secretary Public Service Commission to look into the matter personally and order afresh conduct of Mathematics Paper-1 examination. |
