Work for women's upliftment Sir, Even after 52 years of independence the women folk in our country is considered inferior than men. They are still at the mercy and under domination of a man who treats her not equal on matters of social justice upliftment. They are still victims of dowry deaths, inspite of the fact that so many laws are in force to protect their fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution. The fate of the women in general will be improved only if man will take a pledge on the Women's day i.e 8th March that no discrimination harassment and brutal treatment action will be taken against the Women Folk so that they may also feel equal in all respects. In order to provide social and respectful status to the women the following solution is immediately required : i) In the matters of Admission of the kids the name of the wife and husband should be recorded in the school records. ii) The female who are married out side the J&K State should not be de-barred from the facilities under PRC (permanent resident certificate). iii) At the time approval of the Housing Plan by the Local Self Institutions the name of both husband and wife should be incorporated in the records. iv) In the matter of service/promotions some percentage should be earmarked for women employees in order to provide better treatment to the women. v) Even in Land records at the time of Kharasa & Gridwari the name of women should be recorded in the revenue records. Welldone job ! Sir, On Ist March while going through Daily Excelsior I came across a good reading material under the caption ''Social Service for ulterior motives'' written by Mr Nishikant Khajuria. I can say with full confidence and conviction that the writer is a master craftsman and has hit the iron when it was hot. He has exposed the so called social workers who have brought bad name to a good cause. Yours etc... |
Well deserved award Sir, Please refer to the news item ''Jamwal selected for Vikas Rattan Award'' that appeared in your esteemed paper on 5 March Mr M S Jamwal, the Managing Director of RIDAM, has added yet another feather to his cap by bagging this coveted award. He had recently been honoured with ''Rashtriya Samman Puraskar'' and ''National Education Excellence Award''. Little wonder that he has been time and again honoured by the State Government for his unique contribution to the society. Mr Jamwal is a pioneer in spreading the message of adopting the road safety rules. He is always in the forefront of organising various quiz contests, slogan contests and painting competitions to create awareness about the traffic rules among the people.
