2 soldiers injured in encounter
5 foreign militants shot dead in Surankot

RAJOURI, May 31: The Romeo Force of Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police gunned down five foreign militants in Surankot area of Poonch sector today. Two soldiers were also injured during encounter with ultras. Giving details, Deputy Inspector General of Police Pooch-Rajouri Range, Mr Ram Lubhaya disclosed that acting on an information provided by police, the jawans of Romeo Force and SOG launched a joint operation at Darra area, about 5 kms from Surankot at around 10 AM today...........more

India, Pak may build more nuke weapons: Cohen

US Defence Secretary William CohenWASHINGTON, May 31: India, Pakistan, China and Russia may be encouraged to build more nuclear weapons if United States reduces the size of its nuclear arsenal below a certain level while pushing for a broad national missile defence shield, US Defence Secretary William Cohen has said.
