Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr Farooq
Abdullah, for his "total
failure" to give good governance to
the troubled State, Mr Mohammed Shafi
Qureshi, chief of the J&K Pradesh

fresh Assembly elections in the State.
"The question of seeking new mandate

CJI for providing speedy,
cheaper justice to people

Dec 19: Chief Justice of
India (CJI), Dr A S Anand has stressed
the need for providing speedy and cheaper
justice to the people in the entire
nation Addressing the gathering of Bar
Association of Jammu here this afternoon,
Dr Anand said that a common man turns
towards judiciary and knocks its doors
after he fails to get his due from the
executive. "If judiciary also fails
in performing its duties, then the comman
man has to go to the streets in search of
the justice", the Chief Justice
said, adding that such a trend will then
lead to anarchy. The judiciary, the Chief
Justice said, has a very important role
in the system and it was very important
to win the confidence of the

Safety corridor along
Indo-Pak border

DELHI, Dec 19: The Minister for
Home Affairs, Mr LK Advani, has ruled out
the possibility of constructing safety
corridor along the Indo-Pakistan border.
Existence of villages in certain areas
close to the border has to be kept in
mind while discussing the question of
having safety corridor, Mr Advani
informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Responding to queries during the question
hour, the Home Minister made it clear
that there was no proposal to construct
safety corridor along the Indo-Pak
border. He informed Mr Ramji Lal Suman
and Mr Zora Singh Mann that the
unwarranted and indiscriminate firing
from across the border is confined to the
International Border and Line of Control
(LoC) in the State of Jammu and
