Prime Minister Atal Behari VajpayeeNEW DELHI, Dec 14: The Lok Sabha today rejected an opposition censure motion after Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee declared that his Government would abide by the court verdict on the Ayodhya issue but not before a key ally rapped him for his controversial remarks and virtually threatened to abstain from voting on the motion. All the allies, including those which had reservations over Vajpayee’s controversial remarks on Ram Temple construction, backed the Government to throw out the censure motion moved by

JAMMU, Dec 14: A special team of Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) from Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat today simultaneously raided the twin residences of a senior IAS officer of the State and Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education H L Kadalbaju and his son-in-law Anish Bhan’s father here and recovered a large quantity of cash, jewellery and dollars from their houses and bank locker. Following the raids, the CBI team this evening detained Kadalbaju for questioning and whisked him away to an unknown location.......more

Defence Minister, Mr George FernandesNEW DELHI, Dec 14: Inputs available with the Government indicate that the Hizbul Mujahideen receives a major share of funds from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for militant activities. This information was given by the Defence Minister, Mr George Fernandes, in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Answering a question by Mr Madhavrao Scindia, Mr Fernandes divulged that six other militant outfits were also receiving funds from the ISI for sustaining terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. ......more
